My best friend told me it was one of the things she recommended we get. She said it made transitioning to the crib in his room so much easier. It also stopped her from getting up constantly because she could see what was going on.
I love ours. It's nice to be able to see what he's doing without having to run upstairs to check (he likes to bang his foot on the crib rail, which sounds awful downstairs/over the monitor) every few minutes.
B is 2 and I still have it attached to my hip when he's asleep, I don't really watch it unless he's making noise though.
We plan on getting one when we transition his crib to his room. We didn't plan well when buying this house almost three years ago. The master is downstairs and all the other bedrooms are upstairs. I haven't felt comfortable moving his crib upstairs yet so it's still in our room.
With my next one, I'm getting one. I wan't to be able to SEE her lol
Yes, this. We have an audio monitor and sometimes I can't hear her breathing because of the air conditioner vent being right above the dresser where it sits. Plus, I bet it would be cute to watch her sleep
ETA: I guess this means I am actually coming around to the idea that Mungee will get a little sister. Yes, I would like another girl, if there are any others.
Mungee and Me
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?
I hear that! Mungee's room is surrounded by our kitchen on one side and the main bathroom on the other side. No parties are being hosted here after her bedtime, that's for sure!

YES! I freak when I can't hear her. We have the Angel Care with the movement sensor, but I still don't rely on it. I'm always thinking that it won't detect it if she stops breathing. I'm neurotic, I know, I know.
I'm late to the conversation, but I've heard from several people that video monitors completely saved their sanity so they don't have to keep getting up and checking, at which point the baby hears you and wakes up, etc. So I'm all about that!
Re: Video Monitor Questions
Let's try this again...
