sewing help needed re: terry cloth

help! i'm trying to applique hand towels.

the bobbin thread is too loose no matter what i do. i tightened/ loosened the tension as much as i could. i am using a walking foot.

what else should i try? thanks!

When I have tension problems my "reboot" step is to totally rethread the machine.
