Thanks ladies for all your help and encouragement last night! it took 45 minuets before DD quieted down. Tonight she fell asleep in my arms nursing, so I stood up (which woke her up), talked to her about what was about to happen, kissed her and put her into the crib. She screamed for 5 minutes or so, cried for another 5 and has been doing light crying (like complaining crying) every since. She was calling for mama, but when I never answered, she moved on to dada

At least the crying is lighter tonight! (so far)

Re: update to my life - CIO night 2
Christmas PJ's!
That's rough, but sounds like it's getting better! Hang in there. My DS will go from Mama to Dada too, and one time he paused and then said "Baba??" for "Grandpa".
We're "retraining" right now after a teething spell and a cold, and I just hate it. But I'm hoping afterwards we'll have a few months of easy bedtimes again.
I was channeling you when she fell asleep in my arms. Noramlly she goes to bed at 7/7:15 but she fell asleep in my arms at 6:40 and I did not know if I should put her down then or wait! I put her down - hope that was right.
She just called for me a few more times and then it got pretty quiet... 6:40-7:10.... I hope your night goes well!
Oh and she slept until 5:20 (she is usually up at 5 on the dot so this was a gift) and seemed to like me in the morning, whew

All quiet on the western (well, her room faces south and east) front! OMG I can't believe I survived 2 nights of this! You all are right, it does get much faster the second night. I would say she screamed then cried then fussed for 30 minutes...
I am giddy with relief that I did it (never mind SHE put herself to sleep, I am the one who stood strong and did not go in and rescue her!) You are all awesome! thanks for everything!!
"see" you all tomorrow night for night 3 check in

That is good she slept in for you! This one was up until 11, then slept until 10:45!!! Napped late 3:30-5:30, so hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm glad it was only 30 minutes for you, I have hope!!!
