Really stupid disposable diaper question...

My DD is mostly cloth diapered. We're going to stay with my parents for the weekend and I decided to use disposables because I don't want to deal with diaper laundry at my parents house. So I put her in a Pamper's... how in the hell do tell if these things are wet or not?! I just changed her because I THINK she was wet but...I really couldn't tell...

  • Do your pampers have a little line going down the front?  if so, when turns blue, it is wet.

  • It gets fuller and heavier in the crotch area.  Some pampers have a yellow line on them that turns blue if there's pee or poop.  That's the easiest way if they have the stripe on them.

Ok, that's what made me think she needed a change. But I wasn't sure if it was pee if that's just how they get. I feel like such a dumbass, but this is maybe the 2nd time she's been in a sposie since she was a week old!

Yup.  It's pee.  Don't feel stupid!  If you don't use them, I can understand how you wouldn't know.  Those things sop up pee pretty well!

  • With our little guy I generally judge by the weight of the diaper because it is difficult to feel the moisture from the pee because they are so absorbent.  I use Huggies and there is no line indicator so the weight is how I can tell.
