Potty Training

AW: We made it to Day 4

At one point, I didn't think we would make it to the other side lol. I am proud and happy to report that we are right now 4.5hrs into our first (prolonged) period of accident free-ness! She was also virtually dry this morning (only the teeniest wet spot) and I attribute that to no fluids 2 full hrs before bedtime (that was hard as she's a big drinker). We made a fairly extensive (about 3hrs long) outing yesterday successfully (i.e. no accidents AND one successful "hit" in the public restroom).

I woke up today not really knowing what I should do about the reminders etc, decided to ease up a bit to test her and see if she would pee on her own and this seems to be working. I've noticed she seems to have consolidated the number of times she needs to pee. For comparison, she needed to pee about 20 times that first morning (a ton of small releases) and this morning she's needed to pee only 4 times.

Basically, I'm a BIG fan of this method. I think it would've been MUCH easier to do w/o an 8wk old baby in the house as well but we made it anyway. HUGE props to my Alaina :)

  • Woo hoo go Alaina!!! Should I be telling Liv to go potty or Have her go on her own?

  • I never asked her to go, directly. I always said "Let mommy know when you have to go potty, okay?". It's what the manual suggested so I just went with it.

Wait, I *did* ask her to try to go once before we left yesterday on our outing but she straight up yelled "noooooo!" lol. Guess that's why the phrasing is important?! lol Didn't realize they would get such subtle differences :)
