Anyone have a late walker?

I know, every kid is different, blah blah, but I fully expected Riley to be walking by now.  She is 15 months and will take about 7 steps then drop down and bear crawl.  She moves super fast bear crawling, which is why I think she isn't walking yet.

When did your little one walk?

    E didn't walk until 16 months and we also expected it much sooner, because he was pulling to stand well before a year and taking steps here and there for months.  He was like Riley in that he was so fast crawling, I think he just wasn't motivated to walk right away.

    My MIL told me that DH was a late walker, 14/15 months.  She said he just found crawling to be so much easier and faster for himself...

    Finally she got him in the habit of walking by blowing bubbles in the backyard and having him have to "chase and jump" after them.  She said a week straight of it and he never wanted to crawl again. 

    Worth a shot?

    Spencer took his first steps just before his 14 month birthday, and wasn't a full time walker until ~15 months.  FWIW, we did have him evaluated by the Easter Seals when he was ~14 months old and they said he qualified for physical therapy since he wasn't a full time walker yet.  We declined as we weren't too concerned, and didn't feel he needed the physical therapy.

    What did they evaluate?  I was thinking about emailing her doctor.

    Emmalee is 17 months is still very much an assisted walker or crawler. She walked at daycare last week for the first time by herself but hasn't really repeated it since.

    Maddie started walking at 15 months. Before that, she was all about crawling. As soon as she developed an interest in trying to walk, she had no trouble. In hindsight, I'm really glad I didn't worry about it because it definitely wasn't an issue. She was just much more interested in other things.

    The evaluation was entirely Q&A, with them asking questions and me providing answers.  Questions about what he was doing (words, toys, crawling, standing, walking, etc.).  The PT reco was entirely based on him not walking yet.

    Mine didn't walk until around 16 months. He loved his army crawl (he never did crawl on hands and knees until after he walked). We took him to a kiddie concert where EVERYONE was wlaking and dancing and he litterally stood up and took off across the floor.

    I think it was peer pressure.
