Hi Ladies,
We just added lunch the past 2 days (1 container of veggies) and he's really refusing the bottle now. Breakfast is 3tbs cereal and 1/2 container of veg, dinner the same. We haven't gotten to fruits yet. He's only had 12 oz of formula all day and hopefully he'll get 2 more bottles. I'll be lucky if I can get another 12 oz in him. I know 24oz is enough, I'm just worried b/c last night he had 26oz and he woke up at 3am needing a bottle. Took 6oz. He never needs a feeding in the middle of the night. Is it possible he's just not ready for lunch yet? I thought he was b/c he was taking 33-35oz with 2 meals which is on the high end. HELP!

Re: 6-7 months and 3 meals a day come in
Are you giving him the bottle or the food first? If you are concerned about him getting enough formula, give him the bottle before giving him solids.
My DS nurses and then gets solids about an hour later for both breakfast and lunch. For dinner, he eats 1 - 1.5 hours prior to his last nursing of the day. His liquid intake has definitely gone down since adding that third meal, but I feel better knowing that he is hungry when it is time to nurse.
Good luck!
My DD had been sttn since 7 weeks old, however she woke up in the middle of the night once last week and finished a 7 oz bottle. She recently started eating solids three times per day too and I was afraid waking up would become a habit, but she hasn't done it again. I'm starting to think her teeth were hurting which is why she woke up and then once she was awake she decided she was hungy. Could the same thing be going on with your LO?
My DD's doctor said that by 10 months she must be eating 5-6 jars of food per day and only drinking 10-15 oz of formula. He also mentioned she could start that now. I was worried she wouldn't get enough nourishment, but with three meals and three 5-7 oz bottles every day, she is doing great! GL!

Evan eats about 35 oz of formula each day, and takes 3tbsp cereal (with fruit) in the morning, and then 4tbsp of veggies in the evening. I haven't tried to introduce a 3rd meal yet, but if I did, I think it would be normal for them to cut down on their formula intake.
I try to prevent middle-of-the-night feedings by dreamfeeding him right before I go to bed (around 11pm). He sleeps through to 6:30 or 7am usually.
