TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

I hate insurance companies!

So I called mine recently to ask about IF coverage and the lady told me they cover diagnostic stuff and I thought she said things to fix what is wrong. Well, I called today to find out if they will cover my lap and hyst surgeries. Well, the rep said they only cover diagnostic stuff and only if medically necessary. I asked her what constitutes it as med necessary, I have IF issues. So the only way to find out if they cover it for sure is to have my drs office send in a request before having the surgery and that takes 30 days. So now I don't know when I will have it or if they will cover it. I effing hate this crap. I can't deal right now.

Re: I hate insurance companies!

  • That sucks.  Is there any way to get them to rush the approval?  Not sure if it helps, but my insurance only covers diagnostics too and it was not an issue at all to cover the hysteroscopy which I had as outpatient surgery.  Can you try calling back again to ask a different rep?  Or maybe get the billing codes from your RE's office and see if the ins company can tell you based on that?  My RE office has a billing person that's pretty helpful so maybe you can try that too - she may have dealt with patients with similar insurance coverage.  Good luck.  I hope you can get it figured out quickly.

  • I'm sorry, that just sucks.  I hope they agree to cover it.

  • That stinks, hope they can let you know sooner. Someone at your RE's office should be able to help you will billing and will probably get you an answer pretty quick.
