Hi March Mommies!
I have not thrown up yet, but I do have an upset stomach for most of the morning and early afternoon. I finally have an appetite late afternoon and evening. Problem is, after reading all the pregnancy nutrition websites, I feel like I'm slacking in the nutrition arena for our baby. I do not even know how some women who have an appetite can eat all the necessary foods.
Any body else out there who feels the same way? Am I alone?
Any ideas?

Re: Finding it difficult to eat
i feel the same way
i'm just trying to eat when i can/want to and trying to drink lots of fluids, but as this is my first baby i have no idea if that's ok.
Both the doctor and the pre-natal consultant at my practice told me not to worry about the eating right now. Just do what you can and make sure you are drinking water and taking your vitamins.
Ideally the first trimester is only 100 extra calories, 2nd tri 200, 3rd tri 300.
I consider the bowl of ice cream on a daily basis my extra 100 right now
I haven't thrown up yet either but I have been extremely picky. I'm still eating normally but have lost 5 lbs so far. Again though - the dr. did not seem to think this was an issue.
omg, Carrie!!! I know you!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! (I'll keep your secret if you'll keep mine!) So excited for you.
I have been feeling sooooo ill, and have thrown up several times actually. But I've found (and this was true with my first pregnancy as well) that keeping food in my belly actually makes me feel lots better. So definitely try to eat even if you don't feel like it!
Oh I'm with you all and I was worrying too about eating enough, especially of the right foods...
For me it's not so much a "gotta vom" feeling as it is a strange crampy fullness and nothing seems appetizing. Ugh! It's so early to be having these feelings- hope it's not a sign that the rest of 1st tri is going to be extra rough!
Heck yeah. I have no nausea, but my appetite is so weird. I'll get hungry gurglings, but nothing seems appetizing. Then I eat, and I just think, "bleh." I can't really describe it otherwise...it's just a gross ew-that-wasn't-good-at-all feeling.
I thought I was supposed to be enjoying food! I know this will change, but I hope it doesn't last too long.
