In-laws not coming to LO bday party!

I just found out today that only my MIL is coming to LO's birthday. DH has 3 brothers and all of their wifes and one brother is not coming for some reason or another. I wouldn't be so pissed but we go to EVERYTHING. I mean everything, every bbq, baptism, shower, everything! We didn't make it to one birthday party but still sent a card and GC! I guess I just got my feelings hurt that they dont return the favor, especially when I have worked so hard on this birthday!  Sad

    I would be upset too! It's hard when others are not as thoughtful as yourself. Like you said, you don't miss anything but I know for others it's no big deal. I guess in the future don't make their events your #1 priority, unless you want too. Sorry. I'm sure the party will be fantastic either way. At least you have those attending who really want to. Have fun!

    I would be upset too and I have a feeling that my in-laws might to the same to us. Just like you we go to everyone's birthdays, baptisms, 1st communions,etc. and they didn't show up to our co-ed bridal shower, the wedding rehearsal or the baby shower.  DH has 2 brothers and 4 sisters and only half of them showed up.  I was upset too, especially when they complain that they  never get to see us, but then they never show up.  Oh well...

    My FIL did not come to the girls 1st birthday party.  I am not surprised because that is typical for him.  He didnt come to his other granddaughters birthdays either.  I am actually surprised he made it to our wedding.  Sucks when you have family that could care less about family.

    I'm kinda jealous...LOL I WISH a future IL wouldn't come to the boys bday party.....but I'm not that lucky!
