Any one here rent a breast pump from Harrisburg Hospital? I don't want to buy a pump in case breastfeeding doesn't work out for us. I'm assuming the hospital has rental options. Any info would be great!
I did not rent a pump bc it was more cost effective to just buy one. I figured if breastfeeding didn't work I could still pump which would still give the baby what she needed. Good luck. (BTW- if you're interested, i'm selling my pump. it is the medela 'pump in style' double pump - the backpack one. i used it for 6 months)
I didn't rent one (bought my own, figuring the same thing as PP, and used one of the 20% off BRU coupons), but I'm assuming you could just contact the hospital's lactation consultants/department and they'd be able to get you the pricing.
On a side note, I didn't deliver at Hbg Hospital, but I received this info in my hospital packet that they gave me when I delivered, and I was shocked at how pricey it was to rent them!
I delivered at Harrisburg. I think it was about $50 a month to rent one. If you want to get your own, some insurance covers the cost of them. A lot of people don't know that but it's available by a provider (providers usually supply hospital beds, walks, O2 tanks, wheel chairs, etc). When your in the hospital you can ask to use theirs at no cost to see if your confortable with it. I asked and they also brought me a hand pump one for me to keep. It's a PITA to use so definately go for the electric double breast pump.
