earthquake in the DC area this morning...

so apparently we had an earthquake...3.6 to be exact. Nothing major for people on the West Coast but for us East Coast people it has everyone talking and A LOT of people felt it, we did not, slept right through it!

Re: earthquake in the DC area this morning...

  • Yeah, that really isn't much compared to the shakers we've been having here in Southern California, but that doesn't discount how disconcerting they are!!  I hate that I can never know when they're coming.  Last time DD was napping and I ran in and got her out of bed, ran down the stairs and outside, and by that time it had stopped shaking.  So I essentially screwed up her nap for nothing!  It's getting to the point now that we have them so much they don't even bother me anymore.  The last one was a 5.9 and I didn't even panic.  GL!

  • DS woke up at 4:45am so I had just gotten back in bed from shhhing him.  I thought I imagined it - but I remember thinking "the house is shaking and it's 5am . . . that's odd."  We live way too close to Dulles so I brushed it off as a very low flying plane . . .
