Supervisor vent!!!!!!!!!!!

As I walked into work this morning my supervisor mentioned that I was not at the track at 0600 for PT this morning and wanted to know how I spent my time.

Background:  38 weeks pregnant, high risk for preterm labor, prior preterm delivery at 35 weeks, irregular contractions since 28 weeks brought upon by physical activity...

I just smiled and told him I did my 3rd trimester pregnancy video at home (which I did) which is basically stretching/light cardio/yoga.

I keep laughing about it - I can barely walk let alone run around a track. This baby's head is sitting right on my cervix and feels like he/she is really ready to come out.  Do some men just not get it??

  • No, they don't get it at all.  A high ranking member of my command was upset that I wasn't at drill one weekend when we had weapons qual on Saturday and a ruck march on Sunday.  My supervisor started to remind him I was pg.  He interupted her and said I could have pulled ammo detail on the range and still should have been able to ruck.  Um... no.  She stopped him and said, "Sir, she's 32 weeks pregnant, on bed rest because of pre-term contractions and can not do that kind of activity."  He said, "Ugh, women!"   He's awesome.

  • Wow! This is pretty bad..

  • I totally feel your pain. I've been having alot of complications already and high blood pressure. My doctor told me that I need to rest as much as possible and lay down at every chance and if things got worse that we might have to look at the possibility of bedrest. When I told my supervisor that I shouldn't be on staff duty so that I could avoid bedrest, he asked if there were any exercises I could do to lessen my complications. I don't think he listened to anything that I said to him. Maybe its a common problem with the military.

  • It is, and it's not just among male supervisors. I have a female supervisor who's never had kids and doesn't know how tired, crappy, sick feeling, etc that you could feel on any given day; not to mention random headaches. She's still had me go outside and sweep in RED FLAG conditons.
