I'm putting too much stock into this

You know how you hear about pets that will "alert" a person about something (fire, medical emergency, etc.) and they look back at the pet's behavior and realize that they were saved by the pet?

Well, one of our cats is currently sitting on my pillow (which he never does), anxiously looking at the bassinet where DD is sleeping. I'm trying to hold my laptop up to see if there's a moth or something flying around over here - if not, I'm going to be up all night making sure nothing happens to LO*.

*I'm not worried about the cats doing anything to her - they usually avoid her like she's a visit to the vets.

I see what you mean, I might be freaked out too!!  Better to be freaked out now and LO be totally fine than the other way around, right?

  • I understand what your thinking.  I thought the same thing when all of the sudden our cats began to look over at DD.  I think it was more just they began to realize that she wasn't going away.  One of them now meows when she cries and begins to rub at us as if to say "Don't you hear her." Its very cute how much they pay attention now.
