Good evening ladies! I need some quick help. I was not planning on buying a "toddler" (or whatever comes after infant) car seat for some time... so I have done zero research on them! However (and yes, I am very lucky!) my dad's family, which is huge, just called my mom and said they would all like to go in together and get one of our "big ticket" items. I think they're wanting to spend between $250-300+..... well... we have most everything we need and I'm not a fan of getting "stuff" just for the sake of getting it... does that make sense? I would like to register for something useful. So I'm thinking our "next" car seat would be a good thing. We already have our infant car seat, a Snugride.
I understand Britax makes some great car seats... which one is considered the best? Which one do you have and do you love it? (I realize a lot of you are still probably using infant car seats...) I just haven't done any research on this and I need to put something on my amazon.com registry pretty quickly.
Thanks!!!!!?
Re: Which Britax car seat?
We have a roundabout and a marathon. We love them both!
We are planning on doing extended rear facing and both seats are great for that. The roundabout goes to 33lbs rear facing and the marathon to 35lbs. The foward facing limits are 40lbs (roundabout) and 65lbs (marathon).
You can compare all their seats on their website.
I don't think you can go wrong with any Britax seat.
GL!
Ps. You might want to wait a while. There are good sales on Britax seats occasionally. We were able to get our marathon for $135 at Target on clearance, because they were bringing out the new patterns. This is especially nice if you need to buy more than one seat.
Britax Marathon or Roundabout- depends on the size of your car, but I would go with the Marathon since it has a higher weight limit.
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
We got the Britax Boulevard for the better side impact protection. But they are all very good.
Ditto to PPs, try the comparison on the Britax website.
We got the Marathon because although DS will probably not still be in the convertible seat until 65 lbs, there is a pretty good chance he will be over 40 pounds/inches and could outgrow the Roundabout (not the case for all babies, of course). However, the Marathon fits fine in our SUV, not so good in our sedan, so you will want to consider vehicle size too.
