Just a question of curiosity.. I've never been pregnant before so I'm not sure what is normal for most people. I've had some period type cramping occasionally, but nothing that hurts and it just comes randomly. Nothing that would even remotely make me think labor.
Now my question is.... do people just randomly go into labor and "this is it" without having pervious episodes? Or is it safe to assume that I will have a few false starts where nothing ends up coming of it?
Re: Will we mostly all have "false labor"?
with my 1st I had 2 episodes of false labor where i thought, "is this it?" but then when i had my 1st real contraction...i knew it was it....if you cant walk or talk through a contraction then it is it...i had my son 8 hours after my 1st contraction....i like to think that those false starts helped....gotta stay positive!
I have a friend who never had any BH or any cramping & one night she just went into labor after being checked 2 days prior & she wasn't even kind of dilated or effaced. She went to the hospital and was 100% effaced & 4 cm dilated.
Today I had a serious case of false labor. Then it stopped. Its starting up again, but I get the feeling it will just keep me up all night. lol! Ugg!
A picture is worth a thousand words. I'd bet money your words are ignorant.
I didn't have any false labor with my first. My water broke and then contractions started a good while later.
This time I could have gone to the hospital like 5 times already if I didn't know any better. It's torture. I hope you don't have false labor.

this is exactly what happened to me- I never had BH or any signs of labor until my water broke- contractions started about an hour later on the way to the hospital
