Childbirthing Classes at South Shore Hospital

DH and I are beginning our 5-week Prep for Labor and Birth course on Wednesday, and the hospital gave is this laundry list of what we should bring with us to each class.  Has anyone out there been to this class already?  Did you enjoy it?  And what did you bring with you?  TIA!

Re: Childbirthing Classes at South Shore Hospital

  • We took them & it was great!  The only thing we needed was a pillow (& not the first week, though I don't want to tell you not to bring it in case you have a different instructor).  Otherwise, they provided water, and we took turns bringing sweets in for a snack each week (the instructor brought snack the first week).

    Good luck!

  • Thanks so much for the heads up!  I'm really looking forward to it, and here's hoping we have the same instructor -- I love snacks :)
  • Enjoy!  And hopefully at some point while you're at class I'll be nearby with a baby!

This is all great information, I would like to have LO at South Shore (I've heard soooo many wonderful things about their maternity ward!) and DH and I would really like to take this class.

  • Just wanted to say hello... I was at the class at SSH last night too!  Well, at least half of it- I had to leave due to feeling faint (very scary- but ok now).  I was wondering about what to bring too... my bag was stuffed with snacks, water, etc- I think I'll bring a bit less next time.  See you next week?  -Court

Hi Court!  This is MaryBeth - my husband was sitting next to you in the class last night!  We were all really worried about you - but I'm glad to hear you're feeling better!   For next week all we need to bring are two pillows.  Stay well, and see you next week!  ~MB
