So I was in line at a store and this is how the conversation went with the lady in front of me.....
Weird Lady: "Oh, looks like you are going to be having your baby very soon?"
Me: "Nope, not really. I am due end of September."
Weird Lady: "Oh....." (she looked shocked by this)
Weird Lady: "This can't be your first?"
Me:
"Actually, it is my first".
Weird Lady: "Oh....." (she got a little red in the face) then said "Well you sure are all belly".
I did not say anything to this lady. I gave her a look like you need to just STFU! I do like the fact that I am really all baby for the most part. But the comments from strangers are not needed!
Re: Thanks a lot stranger
Don't despair! I'm "all baby" too - and yeah maybe we look a little bigger up front but it feels good to not be the blimp I heavily anticipated since all the women in my family admitedly went "blimpy" instead of "all belly!"
I think some women are trying to make a connection with you and *accidently* become rude nosy people. Oops for them!
At least she has the decency to look ashamed. I've encountered some who will unabashedly ask when am I due and then immediately follow up with a straight, "Whoa, you look fat now." There's another who offered her expert opinion that I'm uglier because I'm carrying a boy.
People seem to think all pregnant women look the same. By 20th week, you should look like so; by 30th week you should be this, you should be that.oh yeah, and I have decided to start telling people who ask that I'm not pregnant, why do I look pregnant???
muwahahahaha
