Lotions

i was browsing in target today and saw that burt's bees has a line for mommies and babies. i was tempted to buy their belly balm, but i don't think this bloat is cause for one yet. i love their lip balm but haven't tried anything else from them.

but also i need a really good hand cream if anybody knows of one. all this bathroom going is doing a number on my hands!

Re: Lotions

  • oh yes, I am piggybacking on this because although I don't yet need belly/ stretch mark cream, I want to know what those of you who already have babies have used.

  • I don't have any children yet, but I'm already using cocoa butter lotion and the Bert's Bees Belly Balm. I really like the belly balm, it's kind of like chapstick though. I don't know if it will really help, but we'll see.

Lots of girls around hear swear by Palmer's Cocoa Butter...

So I tried it with DD and used it religiously EVERY morning after my shower.....at 34 weeks I didn't have ANY stretchmarks on my belly...

    35 weeks? BAM! COVERED!!!

Lotioning up can definitely help, as can drinking lots of water. Both help promote healthy skin with lots of elasticity.

BUT, since stretchmarks tend to be genetic, if you are going to get them, you are likely going to get them regardless of what lotions and potions you use....I will likely use it again in hopes that it will perhaps work this time, but I am not holding my breath! Hahahahaha

It does do a WONDERFUL job at keeping your belly from being itchy though! For that alone I HIGHLY recommend it!

  • yeah ive read theres not really anything you can do to stop stretch marks from coming, but i already have dry skin and it's probably just going to get worse. thanks for the tip.
