My DD is kind of a light sleeper when first put her down. With having 3 dogs, sometimes it gets a little noisy and DH doesn't always remember to be quiet himself. Do the white noise machines work and would you recommend them? TIA!
Has worked for us great!! I was a bit skeptical too and never wanted to use it. DH started to use it and that's when she started sleeping through the night. We have 2. The sleep sheep is great because we take out the little noise maker and pack it in her diaper bag so she can nap well when we're visiting or on the go. It's kind of her cue to sleep. We also have the homedics one that stays plugged in, in her room. It's practically on all the time.

we used the sleep sheep too, but every time the cycle ended, lo would wake up soon after. my dh downloaded an "ocean sound" from itunes and we use that, so it stays on all night!
Do you have a laptop? If you go to whitenoise.com (or something like that, just google) you can try it out and just let it play (for free) on your laptop and see if it works!

We love the homemedics Sounds Spa Lullaby one. It was called the "Baby Crack Machine" on the bump when we got it for DD and for good reason.
The projector finally stopped rotating about a month ago. I think we're buying a 2nd one for DS.
This one. Love it. We take it with us for naps if we're visiting someone's house too. We stopped using the projector when she starting putting herself to sleep at bedtime. I swear the projector was the thing that helped her learn to do that though!
My child needed MASSIVE white noise. The sleep sheep was a joke. It required about 10 minutes of vacuum cleaner noise and then she was a very happy baby in a deep sleep. She also love jet noise:-) I can take her down by the airport and the planes keep her very quite and sleepy.
