What's your fave quick makeup routine?

I'm trying to find some quick and easy products to give me great "natural but better" skin.  I've was thinking about studiofix (but it's a little too matte for my taste), and bare minerals, but I thought I'd check here too.  I've tried bare minerals before but it always looked powdery on me.  I'd be willing to give it another stab, though!  I want to find something easy and quick to put on so that I can look a little more put together every day when I'm home and when I head to work!

Re: What's your fave quick makeup routine?

  • No makeup. Damn fast.

  • i'm a big fan of bare minerals.  but i think my skin is sensitive b/c if i sweat while wearing it my face gets so itchy!  i love the look and it lasts all day, but next time i'll by the one for more sensitive skin
  • I usually do bareminerals-eye liner and mascara for quick makeup.  If I have more time I throw on some blush ( or on workdays).
  • Dang, I was going to definitely recommend Mac Studio fix, I love that stuff! Otherwise, lip gloss and mascara go a long way! I love Clinique's high impact mascara and Neutrogena's Soothing Lipsheers.
  • I use Bare Minerals as well.  Their primer is great, helps combat the powdery look.  For a quick look, I use Bare Minerals, light blush (Nars Orgasm is the best), a neutral eyeshadow all over, mascara, and a neutral lip (MAC Viva Glam V is great, depending on your coloring of course).
  • i usually just use press powder, eyeliner, mascara and a little bit of lip gloss  and maybe some blush but really fast! and thats it..  sometimes i would do just mascara but really i try not to wear much makeup because it makes me look older...  once someone ask me if i was her age, she is 37, i'm 23..  so little makeup for me..

  • oh, and bare minerals looks powdery on me too when I first put it on-I dont notice it after about 30 minutes.
  • I used to love studio fix too, but I live in CO where there is nooo moisture, so I'm constantly fighting dry skin and the flakies!
  • oh, i have bareminerals. I prefer the above. It looks more natural, is infinitely faster and I don't break out after using it...

  • I usually don't wear makeup, but I do put it on now and again for work.

I use Chanel foundation, it's the only one that isn't thick and powdery or clumpy on me. Nars orgasm blush, and a little MAC eyeshadow, and lipgloss. Takes me under 3 mins.

  • For the girls that don't like oily foundation....Clinique SuperFit is AMAZING!! It's super light. I have been using it since I started wearing makeup and will never turn back. If they stop making it, I will cry!
  • Wow, I'm so cheap. I use goofy old Cover Girl Simply Powder Foundation & Maybelline Last Stylist Mascara (I love that it has a little comb instead of a brush on the wand), some Wet & Wild eyeliner to do my brows and line my eyes, and some Wet & Wild clear lip gloss.
  • My fave makeup routine is no makeup, but if I have to use it, I use Origins silk screen pressed powder over moisturizer with a little eyeshadow, liner and mascara. I'm not a gloss or lipstick fan, but I use a lot of chapstick!
  • well...i wear makeup about once a month.

when i do wear makeup...it is probably similar to someone's quick routine.  i like mary kay's ultimate mascara, MAC eye pencil and lip gloss.  that is about it.  takes me like 3 minutes

  • I worked in the industy for 7 years and tried just about every foundation and powder under the sun.  I am in love with Prescriptives custom blend.  It is definitely pricier but it exactly matches your skin tone so there is no guessing.  You can request it matte or sheer or whatever works best for you.

I always watch Carmindy's tips on "What Not To Wear" as well.  I think she has a book or something too

You don't have to worry about that anytime soon. They actually just reformulated it.

  • I would recommend the Clinique "Almost Makeup" compact. It's light coverage, easy to apply & has SPF 15. Nars Orgasm Blush (which I also use), Clinique High Impact Mascara, Laura Mercier "Sandstone" eyeshadow (a good base color if you are fair like me), and a good nude lipstick with a sheer gold gloss to go on top.
