So we've been cruising along using Drop-ins for a while now and everything is going great. Well, we put DS on Similac Sensitive RS for his AR, which is thicker. Now its just been drama drama drama with the nipples.
Slow flow nipples work good for a bit, but then it takes like an hour for him to eat, and he gets mad because its not coming out fast enough.
Medium flow does pretty good, but sometimes he'll act like he dont know how to use them and formula starts squirting out of his mouth.
Cereal nipples are pretty much the same way as the medium flow but when he starts squirting, he's losing a lot more formula.
I made the hole in some slow flows a little bigger, and its pretty much the same story as the mediums. I'm getting pretty frustrated with it, thinking there must be *something* I can do to get it right, when there may not be.
Any advice on how to keep the formula in my sons mouth without him screaming because he's only getting a drop? Or is this just 'one of those things' and I need to just accept it?
TIA
Re: AR and Bottle Drama
Thanks! The thing is, I'm pretty sure it bothers me more than it bothers him, he's perfectly content being covered in leftover formula! So I think it may be one of those things I just have to get over myself.
I know exactly what you're talking about. I started with the R.S. then tried the soy, and now she's back on the R.S. I found the Born Free bottles work the best for the R.S., but I've had to make the holes for both Level 1 and Level 2 bigger for her. I just used a safety pin until it got big enough. We don't have problems with them clogging or being too slow now.
Sucky thing is...we went out and bought Playtex VentAire bottles for the soy because all our Born Free nips were too big then. We've got 4 different kinds of bottles now and only one works (unless I wreck all the other nipples). Ugh...
HTH
I was so afraid Born Free would be suggested! Those things are so stinkin' expensive!
I know...they really are. But--to save my sanity from it being a hassle everytime she's fed, they are the best ones for us to use. Good luck. I know what a pain it is!
Ugh, I may have to give them a try if we dont figure something out. I feel like Ive ruined half of my slow flows trying to get the hole just the right size.
