Is anyone's LO's bedroom far from yours?

Right now, DS is sleeping in the room that is attached to ours (you have to go through our room to get to it) DH and I are trying to decide when to transition him to his room (which is downstairs) I'm just curious if anyone has their LO sleeping in a room that is kind of far from yours? I think the transition would be harder on me than for DS!

My DD's is on the other end of the apartment by the front door. It freaks me out.

The nursery is separated from our room by the living room and a hallway. We rely heavily on the monitor because we cannot hear him with our door shut. It's not bad at this point. I could see it becoming harder as he gets older.

Mine is the opposite...All 3 bedrooms are right on top of each other! When we buy a new home, I think I want the master separate but I suppose we will have to use a monitor for quite some time.

I wouldn't be able to do it. I think of burglars/house fires etc... I am just paranoid! As it is we dont use the master suite in our house because it is on the other end of our house, and I cant take it. So we use a tiny bed room in between what is now DD#1's room and what will soon be DD#2's room. Our king sized bed takes up nearly the entire room but I don't care, I wouldn't be able to sleep that far away.

We recently moved to a new house, the master is on the first floor and all the other are upstairs...I was kind of nervous about it at first but it has been fine.

I'm thinking we might have to splurge on a video monitor when we make that transition (although we already have a regular one) DH might not be too keen on buying one though..I'm thinking a little before he's ready for a toddler bed is when we'll make the transition..but sometimes I think it will be easier to make the transition sooner than later.. idk..oh well, I guess for now he'll stay close to us. It's comforting to know that we aren't the only ones with LO's bedroom far away!

Yes, his room is far from ours and that's why his bed is still set up in our room

Not that he's even sleeping in his own bed, but I can't stand the idea of him across the house. I wouldn't get any sleep at night.

Our girls rooms are upstairs and ours is downstairs. We just did this since we've moved. It wasn't that big of a transition, but my oldest (4 yrs) has decided it means she can get up and do whatever. Needless to say, we put a video monitor in there and quickly tell her to get back in bed!!!

DS room is on the second floor and our room is on the first floor. We have a video monitor which makes me feel better about being on separate floors.

Our room is in the basement and all the kids rooms are on the main floor. We just have a regular moniter and it works just fine, I can hear everything. Plus our dog sleeps upstairs and he freaks out if he hears the door open or anyone outside of the house.

DS's bedroom is upstairs, at the very front of the house. Our bedroom is on the first floor at the very back of the house. You could not stand in one of the rooms and yell at your loudest voice and hear it in the other room. But, that's what the monitor is for right? And, when he's a teenager, I'll be very happy to have the separation! The distance doesn't bother me at all.
