Does anyone have cysts?

Ok so I have a question! I had a positive OPK the 5th, and I am pretty sure I ovulated on the 6th. Starting on the 8th I started having some abd pain, so they did a CT scan and found a cyst on my left ovary and 2 on my right. The pain resolved and they think it was probably a cyst.

?Anyways! To my point- Is it still possible for me to be pregnant this cycle? I am pretty sure that many cysts form AFTER the egg is released, but I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this! I am worried that the cyst means I didn't actually ovulate?

    I have cysts (suspected PCOS) and they were preventing me from O'ing. I would still get EWCM and my body would try to O, but the cysts prevented it.  It depends how big the cysts are and how many there are (my right ovary is covered).  If they are smal you could have O'd with them.  What they could have seen is the corpus luteum, a cyst that forms after ovulation.  Do you temp too?  A temp rise will confirm O.  I would call your doctor and try to get in for a p4 test at 7dpo (monday).  That will tell you a lot - if you O'd and if it was a strong O (cysts can cause weak O too). 

    I O'd on the 6th too, so I'll be going for my p4 test this monday.  Looks like we could be cycle buddies.

    Wow thanks for all the info! From what I was told they are small... and apparently they only saw 2 on one side and 1 on the other. I am hoping that they were seeing the corpus luteum and that the pain was related to ovulation (which in my head makes sense since the pain only lasted 2 days and is resolved). I guess I figure if it was a cyst causing the pain, and cysts take a while to resolve, that I should still have the pain!

    ?I just started temping this month, and I have not quite gotten into it yet, so of course I forgot a big bunch of days (plus I was sick and was worried it would be off)

    If this helps, I temped Sept 30 and my temp was 97.2, my temp yesterday was 97.9? So I definitely got a rise but since I only have like 4 temps on my chart it is hard to say for sure!

    I guess I will just keep temping every day these next 2 weeks and hopefully we will end up BFP buddies too ?image

    It definitely sounds like ovulation pain - which is good, hopefully you had a good strong O and they saw the corpus luteum.  I would definitely get the progestrone test to confirm though - it makes the 2ww a little less long, I think Big Smile

    So would I just call my OB and request a progesterone level? I was seeing my primary Dr for the Abd pain, not realizing it was gyn related.

    Will most OB's just run the test or do you think they will make me make an appt (which will be maybe 3 months from now it is so hard to get in!)?

    I have never done it before! Thanks :)?

    You should be able to call your OB and just go in for bloodwork.  You might have to press them a little - tell them you have doubts that you are ovulating or something. 

    This month, I have to get my bloodwork done at a lab, not my doctor's office, some insurance thing.  But my doc just wrote a prescription out for bw and I'll take it to a lab closeby.  So don't be surprised if that happens.
