A few questions...

Hi everyone!

A few things...

I need some family doctor recommendations... we moved a little less than a month ago and wanted to know of someone if my husband and I ever got sick that we could go to! I live in in the Richfield/Edina area so anyone near us would be great!

Secondly... I'm due for a Rhogam shot next week at my doctor's visit. My husband doesn't know his blood type, but was told if we are a match, I won't have to get the shot. Could he get his blood drawn at the OBGYN quickly or can anyone tell us where he could go to get his blood drawn without it being a big hassle?

Thanks!!!

Re: A few questions...

  • I would ask your OB/GYN if he can get his blood drawn there to check his blood type.  I would think so.

I am RH- and my Husband is RH+ so I do need to get the Rhogam shots.  They are not painful, just similar to getting a vaccination.  :)

When the baby is born, they will check its blood type and if the baby is RH- you will not need Rhogam after delivery, only if the baby is RH+ like your Husband.  GL!

  • His other option is to go donate blood if he can. My DH didn't know his blood type either but his mom did, lol. I'm - and he's + so I've had one Rhogam already.
