My DD's daycare teacher is moving to another state. Do you think I should get her a small gift to say thanks? DD has been in her class for about 4 months.
I think that would be really nice! Depending on how much you want to spend, you could do a picture of her and your DD in a nice frame or even just a gift card somewhere.
I would get something small if you get anything. A gift card would be nice. I had a little boy who was only in my room for a day buy me lunch on my last day at the center.
I made it past my goal I nursed for 1 year and 6 weeks! Im so proud of myself!
That's really thoughtful of you! If so, I agree with a giftcard, as an educator, nothing tops that!!
But keep in mind, it is not necessary--people come and go from centers all the time, so if you do get a gift, you may very well be in this situation again (where you have to think of getting a gift). Also keep in mind, we get gifts very frequently during the holidays and at the end of the school year so you may be giving gifts during those times as well.

DD had 2 daycare teachers. On DD's last day, I gave both the teachers some chocolates and a card. I wrote a personal note in the cards for each teacher. They really appreciated it & weren't expecting anything.
As a teacher myself, just a thank you note always fills my heart. It's nice to be appreciated and thanked. Above and beyond that, gift cards to resturants & educational stores are always appreciated.
