anyone in owatonna? we're moving in :)

hey MN ladies!

DH was able to get a transfer and we'll be moving by the end of this month. we're so excited, as we lived in MN before moving to WY and loved it, and all of DH's family is around that area.

neither of us have been to owatonna before, though - just curious if anyone had any advice/suggestions: is there a "bad" part of town to be avoided, or is it all pretty good? also, any recs on OBs/practices? 

(i don't know if it's taboo to ask these things on a public board, but i guess i'll find out Stick out tongue)

i'm anxious about switching doctors, but from what we've researched about the town, it looks pretty great, and we can't wait to get there already. Big Smile

    Hi and welcome back to MN!  I don't have any recs but if you don't get a response I will ask my SIL.  I know her sister lives in Owatonna and is due in early August.

    I am about 40 min North of the Owattona, I don't know the area, but would love to try a gtg once your moved in.

    I grew up in Owatonna. There really isn't a bad part of town, I used to ride my bike all over. My sister still lives there. From what I know there is only one hospital, so not a lot of choices (everyone I know from there who has kids has given birth there, but maybe there are other options). It's a pretty nice place for raising kids.

    and oh my goodness - i LOVE your little girl's tutu, she's absolutely adorable :)

    a gtg would be great - i'll definitely be on the search for mommy-friends once we get there! i'll try to PM you after we've moved and settled in :)

    I grew up in Owatonna too and agree it is a nice place to live!  I do not know much about doctors there, as I moved away about 10 years ago...  If you are still looking for child care my mom has a home daycare and she is great :)
