W0RST....NIGHT.....EVER!!! (just venting)

So I figured I'd post this to the Houston board, because only people who live here can understand the torture I went thru. So yesterday I get ready to go jump in the shower, super exhausted and I keep telling my husband that the house seems crazy hot. He keeps saying, "yeah, its a little warm." And I'm like, "No, you crazy fool! It's flippin hot. " So I start investigating, and realized the temp in the house is 6 degrees warmer than what I have the temp set to. THE STINKIN AC WENT OUT!!!! ITS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! Literally slept 2 hours, super grumpy all day. Thankfully the AC guy came out and what I thought was a blown $1500 compressor was only a $50 fuse. Awesome!!

    i feel ya. we came home from the 4th to a sauna- 86 degrees inside and 100% humidity with our TWO MONTH OLD a/c not working and water damage where the pan leaked. it sucks. at least you got a good deal in the end. $50 is better than $1500 any day!

    Oh, we ended up being sooo lucky! Being 38 weeks pregnant without paid maternity leave, geez, $1500 would have hurt a little bit. Thankfully tonight, all is calm and COOL on the home front! :)

    Man, no kidding! I like the sound of $50 than $1500. The heat is just crazy hot outside. I can't even stand outside for a minute to walk my dog. Glad you got it fixed!

    We had some electrical issues over the weekend and thought we were going to have to go Sun night without A/C.  In the 45 min it was off the temp in the house went up 4 degrees.

    We managed to move things around in the breaker box and run the a/c but no stove.  It just further proved that our insulation and windows suck.

    DH wanted to come to my work and stay.  He was excited about room service.
