post d&c AF? WWYD?

Tomorrow is 7 weeks since my d&c, still no AF. When I spoke with the NP a few weeks ago, she told me it could take a month to a month and a half for AF to arrive. I'm ready to get back on schedule and I'm debating calling my NP back and begging her to let me shoot up some PIO so I can induce AF. I'm losing my mind here, but I don't want to be "one of those paitents"...

 

1 ectopic 3 m/c's prior to 5/05 Un-freaking-explained IF 5/05 IVF, BFN 9/05 FET 3d5e, BFP = Beautiful Baby Girl (lucky pg #5) 8/08 Fet 3d5e, cp 12/08 IVF with PGD, transfer 3, BFN 5/09 FET transfer 4, BFN Hail Mary IUI with Follistim 9/11 BFP; 9/22 confirmed tubal/MTX 4/10 FET 3d5e, BFP!!!! m/c 5/26/10 1 year break and yet another m/c 5/11 FET #5 initial beat 121, second beta 7 Lap and removal of L tube and very mild endo 7/11 Suprise BFP 12/11 & m/c @ 8 wks. After 11 losses and one beautiful miracle our journey is over, we are thankful and at peace.

    Hi There,

     I hope that I can be of some help.  I have been exactly where you are except I waited 5 months for af to show and she never did.  After a couple of failed progesterone challenges (meaning af still didn't come) My doctor ran a hysteroscopy which revealed uterine scar tissue.  I was then able to look at what needed to be done to treat.  Well after about 4 hysteroscopies which resulted in the removal of my scar tissue, I was finally given the green light in March '10.  If I had had the hysteroscopy when I was waiting on af, I wouldn't be as far behind as I feel that I am now.

    My advice to you - is to have your OBGYN or RE do an in-office hysteroscopy.  They can directly visually your reproductive organs and they can tell you exactly what is wrong.  If AF is on her way - they can even tell you that or if she isn't coming for some other reason - they can tell you that also.  Ultrasound isn't the way to go because if it is uterine adhesions, ultrasounds won't be able to pick them up.

    Thank you! I have always had regular cycles, except after failed IVF/FET rounds (in which I always respond to the PIO within 5-7 days). Time is of the essence because I would like to start bcps in Sept for an FET in OCT. I need to get a full cycle in before then.

    Just call, be that patient, you have far more to gain by getting your period than they have to lose by allowing the PIO.(what does that stand for?)

    My friend had a d&c and I know her cycles were wacky after but it didn't take 7 weeks for her 1st period to  arrive.

    Progesterone in oil injection :)

    Although I didn't have a D&C (I had a natural m/c), my RE gave me BCP to "quickly" induce my next AF .....10 days of pills + another 3 days for AF.  My cycles have always been extremely irregular, so I've also been on Provera on and off to induce AF.  If PIO works for you, then I would ask for it.....be that patient!

    Good luck.......I know how hard it is to wait for AF when you actually WANT her to come!

    i am at 5 weeks and i had 2 days of spotting for 2 hours. Tired of this and want to get it going. I would call NP if I were you,not sure  what comes next for me. Infertility Dr appt on aug 4th to see what next and such. Still supposed to do hsg if I ever get AF. sorry to hijack your post. Call NP if you have that option, we are not getting any younger
