DS now points to the dresser (where we keep the tylenol) if he wakes up in the middle of the night with teething pain. In a way I think it is great that he is communicating that he is in pain but it also concerns me because I dont know if he just "wants" the medicine.

Re: Does your LO "Ask" for Tylenol when teething?
DD used to do that before she started talking with the Orajel. She knew exactly where it was and would point to it. I would show it to her and she would shake her head yes. If it was time to give it to her, I would.
ETA: I would give it to her only if I knew she was teething and her teeth had been bothering her.
Ummm, DS said to me a couple of weeks ago, "One more tylenol please," after I gave him some.
Sadly-- he loves that stuff!
This. My thoughts exactly.
I'm sure your LO just likes the taste and expects it with your routine of middle of the night wakings.
