She's usually nodding off downstairs, and is semi-awake as I carry her upstairs and put her in her crib. Lately that seems to work better than out cold, so she knows where she is as she drifts off. If she wakes up even briefly later (which is often these days), she doesn't freak out about where she is.
It depends... we usually start the bedtime routine in the 7:00 hour, when DS is hungry. Nurse, diaper change/pjs, book, nurse other side, and into the crib. Sometimes he is out like a light after the second nursing, other times he wakes up during the transfer, so really lays down awake/drowsy (like tonight- had to go back up twice to soothe). So I guess really I nurse him to sleep, but he's not always out when I lay him down. Same goes with the (attempted) naps.

Just wondering. I used to rock DD to sleep every night and then I found out it works better for her if I just put her down, turn on the white noise, and let her stare at Sammy (her seahorse) until she falls asleep on her own. Otherwise, she wakes up once through the night... My sister thinks its absolutely crazy because both of her boys had to be out to the world to even think about putting them down.
DS has become a thumb sucker and it's been great for self soothing. If he is showing me his sleep signs then all I really have to do is put him in his sleep sack and lay him in his crib or RNP. He does the rest and is usually asleep within 10-15 minutes.
Hopefully he'll self-wean from the thumb when he's older so we won't have to battle it out but, for now, it's working great!
9:30-10:00 she gets tired and hungry so I change her diaper, put her jammies on and nurse/rock her to sleep. Once she's totally out I put her in her crib. Takes about 20-30 mins.

DD goes to bed while awake, but showing signs of sleepiness.
My two and half year old son insists on being rocked to sleep. I put him in his crib once he is out. Is there something wrong with this picture?
this but i picked partially because that happens most often.
