I have called my RE maybe 2x since I've been working with him (since Jan., through 2 IVFs). Once it was b/c I had a question post ET about my embryos, and once it was for a phone WTF which he offered to do.
I just called him again to ask my question about whether frozen sperm was less effective in an IVF cycle b/c DH and I are trying to figure out some scheduling around our next IVF. I totally feel guilty/like the problem patient calling him for something like that, but I didn't feel comfortable w/ the nurse's wishy-washy response and this is important.

Re: Do You Ever Call Your RE?
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
I call my RE when I don't feel comfortable asking the question of my nurse. He has never made me feel bad or annoying when I call and he always returns my calls quickly. He has actually called me to check on me after the ER and ET. Needless to say, I love him!
Also, to possibly help with your question, my RE said FET had just as good a chance as working for us as fresh. And I did get pregnant with our first FET! HTH and GL!
No, I've never called my RE. I honestly don't even know how I'd go about doing that..the only # they give out is for the nurse message line. My RE has called me once though, when I was in the hospital right before my surgery.
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
I call my RE quite a bit and everytime I do he always says that if I have any other questions or concerns to never hesitate to call him.
I don't have a direct line, but you call the office and leave a message and they call you back that day.
I wonder if we go to the same place. I have emailed and called my RE directly countless times. He never made me feel like I was a bother. This practice is one of a kind though in that respect.
I would not feel guilty for calling. You are paying him a lot of $ and you are leaving the status of your life in his hands - its very important you feel confident with what you are doing.
