WHY didn't I know this before?!

There is what they call a "security light" in our backyard that was installed by the electric company per the request of th previous owners of our home.  It shines like a spotlight into Maddy's room at night.  We have just been putting a blanket up around the edge to block out the light, but it's been brighter lately..new bulb, maybe?  I've been meaning to get blackout shades, but haven't gotten around to it. Well, after last night's teething episode and walking in there at midnight to a super bright room I called the electric company and asked if it could be taken down.  It can!  I'm so excited!  I thought it was a legal thing or we HAD to have it or something.  It even shows up on our electric bill as an extra $9/month charge.  I had no idea we could request to have it removed.  They're coming out this week!
