So I posted around 6pm last night (Day 1) that I had been having a rough go of it. As soon as I posted that things turned around and she had no more accidents. She went to bed at 8pm with the same undies she had on at 6pm!!!
Yes, she woke up this morning drenched but that's 95% my fault as I forgot about restricting her fluids and she always drinks a ton so, yeah, won't be forgetting that again. MH said she had 2 pee accidents right at 6am when she woke and she had no more all morning!! That's about 6hrs of no pee accidents and, no lie, like 15 complete "hits"!!
She pooped for the first time around 9am and she didn't make the potty on that one but that sounds pretty normal to me.
I'm so proud of her!! I notice she's even spacing out her pees more so I can see she's learning to hold it until she has more to release....it probably becomes annoying for her to have to run to the potty so often when she doesn't!! lol
Re: I think it clicked on Day 1 (3DPT)!!
Happy Day 3 to you, you're almost a 3DPT Graduate
So, have you been true to the method and not left the house? I'm just dyyyying to leave tomorrow if she continues on so well the rest of the day today and tomorrow morning.
That's great!!!!! Your children are gorgeous by the way ; ) Are you asking dd if she has to go or are you sitting her there. So when they space their pee more it means they are gaining control? cool That's good to know. I'm so lost with this process. Olivia wakes up dry in the morn and dry at naps. There are times that she'll go and sit right on the potty to pee and then there are the times where she'll be right next to it and pee on the floor. I don't know whether to continue, i was at the point where i was thinking that she wasn't ready and then at a party she told me twice that she had to go pee. Is your daughter using an actual potty chair or the seat for the toilet. Any advice to offer? ; ( thanks
Sweets: About 400 x a day I am saying "Let mommy know when you have to go potty". She completely ignores me by now but I know she hears me and that's just fine.
She tells me every time she pees now and for my kid that is very very often. I'd say about 30 times a day...I think because she drinks SO much all day long and is used to just releasing a little here and there. However, I have been noticing since she realizes she has to release on the potty (or pee gets on her and her undies and the floor which she doesn't like) she has spaced out things a bit.
I can't say I know for sure that spaced out potty trips = anything real, but it makes sense to me because you've gotta think they are used to just going when they feel like it as they want so why not release teeny amts and once it's more work than that it seems easier to hold that teeny bit until the next urge comes along. But who knows for sure, it's just what I've noticed and theroized.
We use a potty insert so hopefully she's not later afraid of big toilets in public restrooms but are thinking about getting a standalone seat too because I read somewhere it's easier for them to poop when they can use thier feet to sort of push off of the floor. And pooping is a challenge for her right now (her big toe juuuust reaches the stool when seated so not enough to push off with).
Thank you for your compliments, your daughter is striking!!
Thomas - I never actually read the 3 day pt book but I figured I had most of the main parts from what I had read on here. I did go outside for him to play today and yesterday. He was getting crazy stuck inside:)
I am worried about what to do tomorrow. My car is in the shop so I can't go anywhere anyways. I am thinking about just having him in his undies and not reminding him and see how good he really is. I am a little worried. I haven't done any night or nap training. I need to buy a rubber sheet to put over his mattress first!
I hope today was a good day for you and your DD!
