I had a nice chat with my dr today. First of all she absolutely wants me to go to an RE, which I agreed to. My appointment is July 28th, so just a couple week away. I kind of was hoping it would take at least a month to get in like most of you ladies experience just so I'd have more time to adjust to the idea. My dr is very concerned that it's not just PCOS that I'm dealing with, it's much more complex. She does think I have a cyst, but said unless I was in a lot of pain, then don't worry about it and it should go away. She wouldn't let me do clomid again for this reason. I asked to go back on bcp and she said no, she said it would only further complicate things and to take progesterone every month for the last two weeks of my cycle to keep things going right. She told me she would prefer we tta until the RE appointment, but wasn't going to order that. She ordered more blood tests including a 2 hr glucose test, lipid panel, testosterone, thyroid and keriotyping. She ordered one more that is suppose to test for something that is similar to PCOS, and is often mis-diagnosed as PCOS but is treated with steroids. I asked the nurse to call and explain it to me, I'm waiting for a call back. She fussed a lot about my weight, I'm up 2 lbs from where I was in March. Frankly all things considered in my life right now I was pretty happy it was just 2 lbs. She pretty much ordered me to lose at least 15 lbs ASAP. So Colinda, if your reading this, I'll be stalking your blog for more ideas. Over all I'm pretty happy with this plan and hopeful the RE will have some more info for us.

Re: Dr Appointment Update
Is it weird to say I'm happy you're going to an RE? I'm really thrilled that you've got some clear next steps to take. Talking with an RE is terrifying me... but it also feels somewhat empowering. Like I'm finally able to take control of my reproductive health.
I'm the last person to totally turn to regarding weight issues. But one thing that has really helped me is to track my daily caloric intake. I downloaded an iPhone ap. I know other people create a free account on dailyplate.com or something.
Clearly it's not absolutely accurate, but having a calorie amount I can consume each day and tracking what goes in and it's (rough) caloric value has made me chill the hell out with my mindless snacking.
I've lost 9 pounds since May and the only thing I'm doing differently is keeping a food journal (which, of course is what makes me exercise or eat differently, but that's what's kept me on track).
Exactly what I'm feeling.
