Not instant. Flavoring is up to you. There's no way I could choke down plain oatmeal. I added brown sugar and some milk and ate it every morning for 5 months.
Any type of oatmeal is fine - instant or other, plain or flavored. You can also eat oatmeal bars (like FiberOne). As long as it says on the box "Oats & Peanut Butter" or "Oats and Chocolate Chip" then it has enough oats to benefit your supply. You'll need to eat 3 or 4 a day though for it to do much good.

Instant doesn't have the same protein & nutrient level as regular. I notice a huge difference between instant & regular. Quick cook is a bit different too.
I buy Bob's Red Mill, but whatever brand is fine. I boil water, drop in a little brown sugar & raisins, dump in the oatmeal on (1:1 ratio with the water), & let it sit for about 5 minutes off the burner, or maybe 2-3 minutes if I can leave the burner on low. Most of the time I can't keep an eye on it so I just take it off the burner.
Voila', oatmeal is done. I have it every a.m. & sometimes for a snack too. Also, granola cereals use oats, so those make a good snack too. My production is definitely better.
