  Massage/warm compress while pumping. It's easier to do this while pumping than when you're trying to nurse. If all else fails, you could try a castor oil compress. Google it for instructions.

  The above, plus dangle the breast in a bowl of warm water and epsom salts.

  Then, after lots of massage, compresses and warm water soak, look for a clear/white milk blister.  If you find one, pop it with a sterile needle ever so slightly (scary, but it WORKS).  Just go side to side, don't point it in toward your body.  This should open up the plugged duct.  Then, pump the contents or hand express.  You'll feel better.  This happened to me Saturday.  The quicker you resolve it, the less likely it will turn to Mastitis.

  I'm dealing with the same thing in my right breast as well. I'm just trying warm compresses with massage and trying to pump at least every hour. Even if it's just for 5 minutes. If he's up, I nurse him instead.

  I actually do something similar to this and it works most every time.  I locate the solid white dot on my nipple (usually very near the location of the solid sore area that's clogged) and then I sort of get behind the nipple to put pressure on the white spot and kind of work it out with my fingernails.  It really does sound worse than it is and a professional would probably tell you not to do it, but once that tiny white solid dot comes out, it makes ALL the difference in the world.  You'd be surprised how much pain that tiny dot causes.
