We have always kept DD's door closed for sleep times. Now that I am potty training (doing 3DPT), should I leave the door open so she can use the toilet if she needs to?
If no, do I just listen for her if she cries out to go potty all night long?
If yes, I'm worried about her staying IN the room at all....how did you handle that? We could put a gate up keeping her in the hallway with access only to the bathroom during the night but what about naps? I would think she'd get up to pee and see me in the LR or kitchen (one floor house) and not go back to sleep, right?
Re: Doors closed or open during naps/bedtime?
DD has a potty in her room. At first she used it but then could not take off her panties so we started leaving her nake from the waist down. Second, she wanted to empty her potty just like mama does so I explained she could not do that and i would do it in the morning. Third, she wanted to empty her potty just like mama does, so I explained that I would take care of it in the morning and she should leave the potty where mama puts it.
After 3 weeks, we have almost no accidents.
