I've tried alternatickers, lillypie and thebump tickers, and they're all wrong for dates.
The boys are exactly 12 weeks old today, but all of the tickers say they're something random, like 2 months, 3 weeks and 2 days old. It made me so confused that I actually went and counted weeks on my calendar (even writing down the numbers as I went along lol) just to make sure that *I* wasn't getting their age wrong lol! But nope, they're definitely 12 weeks old today.
Why don't the tickers say they're 3 months old? It's not a timezone issue because alternatickers has a timezone
selector. Maybe they calculate each month to have 4.333 weeks instead of 4 weeks?
Am I missing something really obvious? Maybe it is me and my math is totally wrong. If so, please feel free to tell me I'm an idiot lol!
Re: why is my ticker off?
oh wait - I get it.
It goes by by month. (don't remember what # date the boys were born so lets use Jack)
2.19 so on 6.19 he was 4 mo then it starts counting over from there.
so 6.19 + 3 weeks, 3 days would be the exact # of days weeks after 6.19 to today.
odd.
Yeah, my guess is that since there actually aren't 4 weeks in a month, but more like 4.3 on average. It won't say they are 3 months until they are 3 full months (i.e. April 10th to July 10th).
yes...there are more than 4 wks in a month. for instance, look at July.... it is 4 weeks and 3 days
so each monthly birthday is always on the same day of the month....

Huh. I wonder why they calculate it like that when all of the baby books etc talk about weeks, not months? How annoying.
Thanks ladies!
