Am I the only one? Olivia will sometimes go pee on the Potty on her own. There are times she will tell me but a ton of times she will just pee on herself like no big deal. I don't know how to read her. Any advice? Should I continue? :::sigh:::

Re: anyone else feel like a failure?
I definitely felt this way at first. We had zero success on day 1. Instead, I cleaned up 12 puddles of pee and 1 puddle of boo-boo off of my carpet. I wanted to give up but didn?t. By day 2, I noticed that Kayla does not tell me when she has to go, but instead she grabs herself right before she pees. Whenever I see her grabbing herself, I immediately take her to the potty or toilet and she goes with no problem. We still have 2-3 accidents per day, but I think that is pretty good only 10 days into the process (I started on July 3rd). It would be great if she would "tell me" that she has to go, but for now, grabbing herself works.
As for when she has to poop, she usually makes a face which means she is about to go. LOL!!! Last night, she made the face while we were in the kitchen. I told her if she had to boo-boo to go to the potty. She disappeared after that and did not come back. I went upstairs to look for her and smelled poop at the top of the stairs. I just knew she had gone on my floor. I asked Kayla where did she boo-boo and she ran to the potty. When I got there, the lid was closed. When I opened it up, she had gone in the potty on her own. It was the first time she had done that, but I think it means we are going in the right direction.
Our little ones are about the same age. In fact, I think they are only a couple of days apart. Olivia may be ready, but instead of telling you she has to go, she may be showing you. Try looking for signs such as squatting, holding herself, etc? If there aren?t any, maybe it would be better to wait and try again later.
