I hate shower games, but my SIL made a great game that went over very well at my shower.
It was a madlibs-style story of our baby's birth. So the story had sentences like
"Jim packed the hospital bag but forgot Jane's_____ (noun). Jane was so _______(adjective) she made Jim promise to change all the ________(adjective) diapers."
"When the baby was born, Jim _________(past tense verb) with _______(emotion)."
"When everyone saw Baby_______(boy's name), they thought he had _________'s(family member) _________(body part).
... you get the idea. It was very fun. Guest filled in papers with just the words needed first, then filled in the story later. They worked in groups of two or three or individually. It was hilarious.
Re: Game suggestion for people who hate games
yeah, the first page just had something like this:
1. noun:_____________
2. adjective:_______________
3. adjective:_____________
4. relative of the baby:_____________
5. body part:____________
The instructions were to fill in the blanks first, and then fill in the story when done (no peaking!).
And then the 2nd page was the story itself, like this:
When Jim packed the hospital bag, he forgot __________(1). Jane was so __________(2) she made Jim promise to change all the _________(3) diapers. When the baby was born, everyone thought he had __________'s(4) ___________(5).....etc.
the total story had like 20-25 blanks. My DH picked the funniest as the winner, who got a prize
