TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

woo-hoo!! I love my RE nurse

Ok this is probably typical for ALL RE offices but new to me -

My RE office assigns each patient a nurse (almost like a case worker). Jenny, my nurse, has called 3-4 times since my initial apt. to see how I'm doing, if I got the blood work in, results, etc.

Today she called to confirm our IVF consult visit. I said I know I'm being whiney but I just don't want to wait till August for our visit... she called me back 5 minutes later and guess who's got an apt. THIS FRIDAY!!!

BOO-YA!!!! (is that how you spell it? "boo ya"??)

  • It's not typical for me.  I hate the nurse I usually have to do deal with at my current RE's office.  She seems so put out by having to call me with my results and she can never be bothered to answer my questions.  She also forgets to call in important prescriptions, like for Follistim.  She sucks.

BUT, I'm really glad you are having a great experience so far.  GL with the appt on Friday - amazing that she could move it up for you.  No point in waiting when you are ready to move forward.  Can't wait to hear how it goes for you.

  • That's wonderful news!  Sounds like you have a great doctor's office to work with and I hope this is the start of many happy posts about your RE's office.  I am wishing you the best of luck for Friday.

I just have to say, I love this set up of having a nurse that is 'yours'.  That way, they know your history, your story and who you are.  That makes so much more sense than bouncing us around to nurses who have no idea what we're going through and think they know more about than we do.

  • That's awesome!  A good nurse seems to make all the difference.  I asked my nurse today if she could please move with me to the RE's office.  She declined :(

  • That's awesome.

I don't even know how to act at a regular doctor's office anymore since I get such personal treatment at the RE and the naturopath.

  • Sounds like you got a great nurse and glad she got you an appt so quickly.

  • Wow what a wonderful experience.  I was just talking to my friend last night who just discovered she is pg after IVF.  She does not feel she is getting any customer service at all.  She feels like cattle and the staff act as though you should consider yourself lucky to be in their care.  Glad this is not your situation.  You have already been through enough!
