    YES!!! I got propofol, fentanyl, demerol and phenergan. Also went home on lortab.
    1 ectopic 3 m/c's prior to 5/05 Un-freaking-explained IF 5/05 IVF, BFN 9/05 FET 3d5e, BFP = Beautiful Baby Girl (lucky pg #5) 8/08 Fet 3d5e, cp 12/08 IVF with PGD, transfer 3, BFN 5/09 FET transfer 4, BFN Hail Mary IUI with Follistim 9/11 BFP; 9/22 confirmed tubal/MTX 4/10 FET 3d5e, BFP!!!! m/c 5/26/10 1 year break and yet another m/c 5/11 FET #5 initial beat 121, second beta 7 Lap and removal of L tube and very mild endo 7/11 Suprise BFP 12/11 & m/c @ 8 wks. After 11 losses and one beautiful miracle our journey is over, we are thankful and at peace.

    Ugh, turns out this all may happen around my son's 3rd birthday party.

    I should add the demerol/phenergan is because I throw up after anesthesia

    Each of my ERs have been a little different, but I'm out of it that day and very slow the next. I usually take my lortab for 3 days. Is his party before or after your ER

    Crap, I read that as ER....no for ET I get valium and modified bedrest for 48hrs.

    If your son is having a party maybe you can have it early or a week late.  My DD, who turned 4 in March, pretty much thinks her actual brithday is the day of the party even though we tell her it's on blah blah date....lol.  Good luck with everything:)

    they do give you anesthesia for the ER, but i don't remember being on a ton of stuff after it. I remember with IVF #1 I did feel nauseous for the first day and crampy - i think they gave me too much anesthesia. When I had my  second IVF I didn't feel nauseous at all, only crampy. I remember they gave me something for the cramps. to play it safe you might want the party a week before or week after your ER if you can manage to work it out schedule wise. best of luck with the IVF.

    for ET you don't have anesthesia. depending on the RE they may recommend a few days bedrest or just modified rest. i've heard all different things. mine recommended 2 days bedrest with both my IVFs.

    thanks ladies for your responses.  The ER will be done before his birthday but the ET could happen the day before his party (printed invites already went out) or the day of his real birthday...I'm not worried about that day.  I would just like to be present at his party and not completely useless-that's my husband's role! ;-)


    The ironic thing to it all is that my last pregnancy (m/c) was actually conceived on his 1st birthday.  I'm just hoping this brings us the same luck this go round.

    They gave me propofol for the egg retrieval. I didn't have any real pain. Just a little soreness both times and I wasn't given anything to take at home. You are only out for about 15 minutes. At least that's how it was for me both times. Are you doing a retrieval or a transfer. The transfer for me, they only gave me a valium to relax me and then everything is done while you are awake and you watch on the ultrasound screen. No pain at all.

    Just had my ET on Tuesday. They did not give me anything and I got to watch on US. It was really interesting. They recommended "light activity" and no shopping for two days. Bummer!! I had very mild cramps for 1 day but feel fine now except for the head cold I just recently acquired. Ugh!
