Ahhh I just got the dreaded Aetna Call too!!

I just got a call from my OB saying that they are in negotiations with Aetna and that the final deadline for a decision is August 1! She suggested I fill out the Continuity of Coverage now and not wait until the 1st. She did say that this practice is part of a group of 100 and something throughout South Florida so she thinks it will work out in our favor since there are so many of them. This sucks though...I have already made all my payments (minus the hospital) for my entire pregnancy so I hope I don't lose all that!!

    Dude. WTF? I have a feeling this is going to pick up quite a bit over the next few months because insurance companies everywhere are losing money and trying to save somewhere and the doctors are not playing. Who knows.

    GOOD LUCK! At least your doc was proactive about it and called you! I had to hear it from Aetna. Suckers.

    Oh, no! I hope it all works out, and if you can't get the Continuity of Coverage, at least you get all your money back or get it applied to your deductible or something.

    My coworker was dealing with this last week and she spoke to the accounting manager at her ob/gyn and she told her not to worry, they go through this every so often but Aetna is going to re-sign.

    I used to have Aetna for my daughter and switched to BCBS....I had BCBS for me to up until June....now I have AvMed.  I could not stand Aetna!

    Ugh. I hate that! When I was doing research for my new Dr I was looking at various drs in the VitalMD group and of course I get a letter in the mail that they didn't settle in time so I wiped them all off my list. Two days later, I get another letter that they are back on our plan. You know they should really cover regardless when you are already mid pregnancy. Bottom line, insurances suck! Good luck!
