Blended Families

I yelled at BM

...and now she won't speak to me, only DH.

Seriously, is that ALL it took for the two of them to communicate? Note to self : next time, yell first.

update: BIL is bringing SS to us on Friday - a week late, but at least I don't have to worry about how to make that terrible drive with Drew!?

  • Hahaha, that's great. I had a similar situation once. I was kind of the go-between for DH and BM when they were arguing. One day, after we'd made plans to pick up SD months in advance, she changed her mind and decided she didn't want her to come stay with us, and wouldn't give DH a reason. So I called her trying to be the reasonable, logical grown-up in the equation. And that crazy lady told me we couldn't take her daughter because we might not give her back. Totally for no reason. She just decided one day that we wanted to kidnap SD. I ended up telling her off and yelling at her that she's just a lazy waste of space with too much time on her hands, sitting around coming up with crazy ideas. Seriously, we had said and done nothing to make her think we would ever kidnap SD. Just random craziness. After that, I'm no longer the go-between. We mostly just do "Hi, how are you? (SD), your mom's on the phone!" and hand the phone to SD.

I don't normally advocate yelling (although I regularly practice it) but in this case I say: WIN!

Enjoy your time with your boys!

    haha. this.

  • I envy you, I think if I ever started yelling at my SK's birth mom I wouldn't stop for at least 2 hours.

THIS.  I have never seen or spoken to BM but if I did, I would have a few choice words for her.  Like how shitty I think it is that she never bothers to call or send anything for SS's birthday, Christmas, etc.
