We are going to try the Dr. Browns glass bottles. Apparently they have some sort of "system" in the bottle and nipple to slow down the flow a little bit and are great for introducing a bottle and still breastfeeding. If those don't work we'll head back to the store and try something else!
My birthson who came before I was ready. He doesn't call me mom but I love him just the same. ~7/10/99~
We had one Born Free bottle that we got for free at BRU and it was great. We used (and will use this time around) Avent and I liked them a lot. They were the ones that everyone said leaked and I did have some issues here and there, but nothing that would make me go out and buy all new bottles this time around. FWIW - Avent did redesign their bottles so the ones in the store now don't leak - my friend uses them and they're great, and very similar to the Born Frees in that they have that one little extra piece, but not a million pieces that you have to clean. What I liked about both brands was that they were wide-mouthed (easy to clean), were a wider bottle so they were easy to grip, and didn't have a million little parts like the Dr. Browns. I did feel like it took DD longer to drink from the Born Free than the Avent.
And a lot of people will tell you not to get just one kind of bottle...your baby might not like the ones that you decide on. I'm not a big supporter of that theory...maybe I just got lucky with DD, and maybe all of the people I know just got lucky with their LO's but they all took the bottle that they gave them. There were no issues where they had to try a bunch of different ones.
We got the free Born Free bottle when we registered. We'll try it out. We have the Playtex Ventaire bottles on our registry. Several friends recommended those. We're exclusively bottle/formula feeding though.
We have Dr. Brown's from DS and plan on using them again. We had playtex ventaire's too but I hated them and just recently threw them all out, DS used them very rarely since he did not like them either. I have the glass & plastic (BPA-free of course) ones.

A few new-mom friends of mine suggest Avent bottles so I think I might buy a couple bottles and just see how the baby reacts to them and if he takes then I plan on buying a big set of them.
My sister has used three different kinds on her kids and they both refused to feed out of any of them so she is giving them to me to see if my little guy will take from them. I will just need to buy new nipples for them.
I used Avent bottles with my DD and plan to use the same bottles again. The great thing with avent is I was able to save the bottles and I just buy new nipples for new baby. The avent bottles also convert to sippy cups later on.

I LOVED this about Avent and I forgot to mention that this was one of the reasons I went with Avent as well. Except DD did not do so well with the Avent sippies! We had to try other ones to get her 'sippy-trained' and by the time she got the hang of it we had happily packed away all the bottles out of sight! But yes, this is an awesome feature of the Avent bottles, and one that I wish more companies would employ b/c it really is a very simple switch out of the nipple and the spout. Now that we have a new one on the way I guess it's a good thing she didn't get hooked on the Avent sippies since we need the bottles again so soon!
We used Avent last time and plan on using them again, just replacing the nipples. The Avent bottles can convert to sippies, but DS hated them so we had to try a different kind.
We used Playtex Drop Ins.....it was great, especially for when we were "on-the-go"
I wouldn't buy a ton of any bottle yet, though. Your baby could be very picky about the type of bottle he or she will drink from. A friend of mine used drop ins for her first son. When her second son came along (only 14 months later) he wouldn't take drop ins and only drank from another type (can't remember which). So if you decide on a brand, try it out first to make sure baby likes it! Then you can stock up!!!

I'm really leaning towards Avent myself though.
