10 weeks old, growth spurt??

Is it common for them to have growth spurts that aren't on the "schedule"?  DD slept 9 hours straight last night, was up an hour, slept 5 hours, was up an hour, slept 3 hours....and the few times she's awake she's either fussing or eating.  I miss happy play time!

    I believe my 10 week old is going through a growth spurt too...maybe we are hitting the 3 month one early. He wanted to eat like every hour yesterday evening and then he was up every hour since 2:00am. I am exhausted and can't wait until this growth spurt or whatever passes.
