Hello everyone. DH and I found out that I'm pregnant with our first last week. Any recs for OBs? Anyone had an OB at Akron City or Cuyahoga Fall General hospitals?

Congratulations! I go to Dr. Fish and Dr. Savitsky in the Montrose area (near Summit Mall) and like them a lot. Dr. Savitsky delivered my son at Akron General Medical Cente and I had a great experience there. These doctors also are able to deliver at Akron City. They are not 'high risk' OBs.
DH and I toured both Akron General and Akron City and we just got a better 'feeling' about General. Both have very good facilities though. The only reason we didn't consider Cuy. Falls was because they weren't completely equipped to handle everything in the case of problems. They'd have to transport you to City or General anyway. We liked that General is right across the street from Akron Children's Hospital and General's NICU wing is run by Children's staff. We didn't need those services, but was great peace of mind knowing they were right there 'just in case'.
My suggestion would be to tour all of the hospitals you're considering, ASK specific questions (if you have to tour 2x, that's ok) and make your decision based on your impressions. You'll hear both good and bad stories about pretty much every hospital out there.
Good luck!

I also delivered at General but City is a perfectly good hospital, too. Falls would have been fine in my case but I chose General for it's affiliation with and proximity to Children's, just like pp. As for OBs- I went to the Reserve in Hudson (they also have offices in Green and Akron, I believe). Group practice with good doctors- I felt very comfortable with all of them.
Congrats! I see Dr. Parenti she is with OBGYN associates. I delievered at General but she has rights to Akron City or Akron General. I do not belive they deliver babies at Cuyahoga Falls General anymore.

Hey! Thanks for the recommendation! I found a doctor with her name at two different locations. Which one do you go to? Does her office have two different addresses?
