3 months old and sleeping ?

Does your 3 month olds or did they do a morning nap, afternoon nap and evening nap?

G will be 3 months old next week and she still eats than plays for about an hour and than takes a 45 min-1 hour nap....Just wondering when her naps will become more defined as 3 naps a day etc...

Re: 3 months old and sleeping ?

  • Karter still doesn't have a nap schedule, dispite my numerous attempts to get her on a nap schedule-ish.  I am luck if she sleeps for more than a half hour at a time.

BUT at the mommy and me class that I go to, the mommies all say they noticed a big difference around 5 months.  I am hoping this is true.

  • Okay, S is a month younger than G (he turns 7 weeks tomorrow) but doesn't have a nap schedule either. He just randomly naps through the day, sometimes he's almost the entire day awake, and the next he'll sleep most of the day. I hope when he goes to daycare that he'll get some kind of schedule, but he's only going 2 days a week, so I don't think that'll be of much help.

Hopefully the 5 month mark will be magical as posted above (never heard of it, but it sure feels good to know I don't have to worry if S doesn't have a schedule anytime soon)

  • Mari's more of a cat-napper... she's up for about an hour and a half and takes a twenty minute nap all throughout the day.  I think G's schedule sounds normal at this point.  I heard the same thing Ashley said - it gets more consistent at like 5 months.
  • B has no kind of schedule whatsoever. I am looking forward to this magical time you call 5 months old.
  • Kellen doesn't have a "schedule" for napping either.  The only thing that is somewhat consistent is his morning nap.  He'll wake up anywhere between 6:30am and 7:30am.  He'll be awake for an hour to an hour and a half and then will go back down for a few hours.  His afternoon/evening naps are all over the place.  And, he hardly ever naps in his crib.  He either sleeps in his swing or in his bouncy seat.  I'd love to transition him to his crib for naps, but he doesn't sleep as long on the few times that I've tried it, so swing and bouncy seat it is!  LOL!
