  I was only called for it once. I went into it with a bad attitude but once I got in the courtroom, I wanted to get picked because it sounded interesting and the judge was really cool.  (Like a b*tchy, no nonsence chick.)  Of course I didn't end up getting picked and I felt so rejected.  Say I was #17...the judge picked #s 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20.  All I kept thinking was "what was wrong with me?"

  In IL you can get out of it if you are the primary caregiver for your child. Maybe that's worth a shot

  This is what happened to me in Orange County earlier this spring. If you're summons is like the ones down there, you should be able to get out of it.
